In case you were wondering... I've been working as a photojournalist for the Wichita Eagle since 1997. Any major news event, sporting championship or natural disaster that's happened in Kansas in the last decade, chances are I've been there. Prior to that, I bounced around some of those other big, square states out west. I was born in South Dakota, raised in Wyoming and went to college in Nebraska. I've also traveled extensively in the Middle East and elsewhere for McClatchy's Washington Bureau. Some of those stops include Qatar, Iraq, Jordan, United Arab Emirates, Albania and Afghanistan. In addition, I've covered two hurricanes on the United States gulf coast. In 2009 I completed work on my first full-length documentary film, "The Miracle of Father Kapaun."
